Spirograph Multicolor Pens

Bring more creativity by adding additional colors to your Spirograph experience. These multi-color pens have ten colors and are similar to the multicolor pens that I used as a kid with my Spirograph toy. You will be happy to know that these pens are the original “thin-style” ballpoint pen tips that are required to fit through the narrow holes of the Spirograph gears. Our Spirograph multicolor pens include the original four colors, black, blue, red and green. But they also include fun and creative rainbow colors: yellow, light blue, pink, purple, brown, and orange — ten colors in one pen! (The barrel color will vary.) You can make your own designs with these pens or you can follow your existing instruction manual but simply substitute the colors. Of course, you can use these wonderful Spirograph multicolor pens for creating your own artwork, independent of the Spirograph! (Also known as “multicolour biro pens.”)

The Spirograph Multicolor Pen contains 10 ballpoint cartridges within one large barrel. The ballpoint pen tips of the cartridges are the EXACT size of the original pen tips that came with your 1960s Spirograph. (Modern ballpoint pens have larger size tips that will not fit through the holes of the Spirograph gears.)

How to use your Multicolor Spirograph Pens.

Twist the top to the color you want and push the lever down to select. Twist the top again to release the pen or choose another pen color. Because the cartridges are made of flexible plastic, they bend slightly as they protrude through the common hole of the barrel.

After you select the color you want, place the tip of the pen through the Spirograph gear, as you would the original pens. Here is a helpful tip: Because the pen tip will bend to accomodate the angle of the hole in the bottom of the barrel, the pen tip will protrude at as slight angle. If you experiment with rotating the entire pen in your grasp as you hold it, you can INCREASE or DECREASE this angle. I would like to suggest that you find the particular angle where the pen tip is the most vertical as it protrudes through the Spirograph gear.



Pen tip protruding at an extreme angle would make it difficult to work with the Spirograph gears.

MultiColor Spirograph Pen FAQ

“The little colored ink cartridges inside don’t stay down.”
Notice if the lower portion of the pen barrel has become loose. Try gently tightening it. Then this tends to twist all the ink cartridges inside so they will all be stuck temporarily. so go around the top and push each pen down then twist to the next position and push that one down until you make it all the way around. Usually this solves the problem.
