Innovative and Compassionate Approach to Helping Your Specific Learning Disability
Larry Stone conducts a series of diagnostics that are designed to target an individual's specific learning disability. A personal program of instruction is then individually tailored to address the student's needs. He uses a multimodality approach combining auditory, visual, and kinesthetic methods to help students acquire learning strategies that will help them to succeed in the academic world. His philosophy is that there are no hopeless students and that everyone can learn. Larry also provides social coaching using a variety of role playing and social modeling activities to help his clients develop the wherewithal to recognize and understand appropriate social behavior in a variety of situations and settings. Inappropriate social behaviors such as talking out of turn, blurting out whatever comes to mind, and disruptive conduct are gradually improved. His approach is compassionate, patient, and instructive. Larry also works closely with families that may feel bewildered with their child's inability to socially interact positively with others; he offers educational counseling and support. In addition, He provides sound academic coaching for high school and college students that are struggling with study skills, essays, and term papers. “Larry Stone is truly an inspiration. At a critical moment in my child’s life, I didn’t know where to go; he helped walk me through the necessary steps to open doors, which were once closed to me. Because of his dedication and commitment, he was able to bring my daughter’s reading level up two grade levels in sixteen weeks. He is definitely a master of his craft — He seems to possess an almost innate and uncanny ability that can’t be described, but only experienced. He is a blessing for us and I am so grateful that he is a true professional and advocate for children.”
—Kai Vogel, Parent, Calabasas, CA
“What Larry brought to the table was heart and soul. He certainly knew how to address dyslexia and fix many of the problems, but what truly impressed me was how well he connected with my daughter. When I first brought my daughter to Larry, she was reversing letters, disinterested in reading, contentious, and unwilling to do her work. Now, my daughter is not only reading, but she just received a 100% on her spelling test — Larry is pure magic.”
—Catherine Kim, Woodland Hills, CA
“I have been a student of Larry for over a year. I came to him seeking solutions for writing. Larry’s enthusiasm, positive encouragement, and method of teaching are superb. He not only has a great style, but he always answers phone calls, texts, and emails within the business day. When I had a few concerns about an email I was going to distribute to company employees, I consulted with Larry and he made all the necessary corrections; he did not even charge me for the service. His motto, 'Once you’re my student, I am your dedicated teacher.' He always goes the extra mile. Larry is more than a master of his craft – he is an artist.”
—Nalaka, Reseda, CA
“Larry worked closely with my autistic son helping him to stay focused. Larry was a godsend as my son acquired new and life changing skills. His self-esteem has increased immensely. Larry is an enthusiastic, patient, kind, and caring professional. When it feels like the chips are down and there is nowhere else to turn, Larry always says, 'There are no hopeless children.' He has been a great inspiration and valuable resource to our family. It gives me great pleasure to recommend Larry Stone.”
—Diane Bernstein, Sun Valley, CA
“Larry Stone worked closely with my ADHD son for ten months. My son loved to come to his sessions and really enjoyed Larry's warmth and sense of humor. Larry did not have cookie-cutter ways of teaching, but rather personalized his lessons to make them engaging, interesting, and fun. Larry is also a valuable resource in terms of locating useful material. He will be an asset to any person with ADHD.”
—Bethany Hernandez, Northridge, CA
