About Christine Elliott
I have been acting all my life. From Broadway in "BUDDY: The Buddy Holly Story" to Film and Television, most recently in "Real Husbands of Hollywood" with Kevin Hart. I have a BFA in Theatre from SUNY Fredonia and went to the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre. Some of my teachers over the years have been Anne Jackson, William Alderson, Austin Pendleton, Maria Gobetti and Arthur Mendoza. I am trained in Meisner and Stella Adler Techniques. I began coaching with fellow students in my acting classes. They would often ask me to coach them on work for class or to help them prepare for an audition. I always loved coaching, but never thought of it as a possible career. In the last couple years, I have started to formally coach. What makes me a good acting coach is that I communicate to each actor according to who they are and their acting level. To me, everything I know about acting is useless in teaching, unless I can put it in such a way that makes the lightbulb go off for the actor I am coaching. I will give you a practical, doable way to approach acting. I love love love to coach and I know how to get an actor to leap to a much higher skill set quickly. There has yet to be a student I can't help make a big improvement in their acting.
"Christine is such a sincere teacher. She knows exactly how to challenge me in a way that is supportive and encouraging to bring out the best in me as a performer. Her enthusiasm and passion about acting is infectious. And, she genuinely invests into the process with me. Christine's unique way of navigating through the work with me as an individual has helped me find some of the most amazing journeys when exploring a character."
